Administration

The affairs of the Foundation are managed and represented by a board of directors elected for four calendar years at a time, consisting of nine members. At least five members must be Finnish citizens of Saami origin. At its first meeting, the board of directors elects a chair or a president and a vice-chair from among its members for a term. According to the rules of the Skolt Saami Cultural Foundation, the chairperson must be a Skolt Saami.

The Skolt Saami councils of the Näätämö and Nellim-Keväjärvi regions, the Sámi Parliament, the Sámi Museum Foundation – Sámi Museum, the Sámi Education Institute, the municipality of Inari, the Orthodox Church and Metsähallitus, as well as the Skolt Saami Trustee are represented at the board of directors. The board of the Foundation meets at least twice a year.

The following persons have been appointed as members of the board of directors for the years 2025–2028:

Metsähallitus did not appoint a representative to the Skolt Saami Cultural Foundation’s board of directors for the term 2025–2028. According to paragraph 5 of the Rules of the Skolt Saami Cultural Foundation and paragraph 9 of the Foundations Act (487/2015 subsection 2, the board supplemented itself and elected the missing member.
